About this Site
Oceanus Procellarum , the Ocean of Storms , is the largest dark lava plain on the Moon, stretching over 2,500 km. Its name comes from an old superstition that it caused storms on Earth. In reality, it's an ancient volcanic basin filled with hardened basalt lava. The terrain is eerily flat and featureless , like standing on a frozen ocean made of black rock that extends to the horizon in every direction. This flatness makes it the ideal location for lunar base construction, and Artemis Base Camp Alpha is currently under construction in the southern sector. Optimus Explorers are actively used for site preparation work.

KREEP Mineral Sampling , Grid F12
Medium3 hours · 11 applicants this week
KREEP minerals (potassium, rare earth elements, phosphorus) are critical resources for lunar industry. Grid F12 has shown elevated KREEP signatures from orbit. Drive Mineral Scout to 10 GPS waypoints and collect regolith samples at each, using the spectrometer to verify KREEP content before collection. Prioritize samples with the highest readings.
$140

Requirements
- →10 samples minimum
- →Spectrometer verification at each
- →GPS-tagged samples
Deliverables
- ✓10 cataloged regolith samples
- ✓Spectrometer readings
- ✓KREEP concentration map
Construction Site Safety Spotter
EasyWork from Earth4-hour shift · 198 applicants this week
Oceanus Procellarum is the staging area for Phase 2 base construction, and Optimus robots do the heavy lifting. But robots are bad at noticing things that look 'off' , a slightly tilted support beam, an unusual dust pattern that might indicate unstable ground, a cable that's routing too close to a heat source. Earth-based safety spotters watch multi-camera construction feeds and flag anything that doesn't look right. You don't need construction experience , we'll train you on what to look for. The key skill is vigilance: the ability to watch a screen for extended periods and notice when something changes or looks wrong. Each shift covers one active construction zone.

Requirements
- →Complete 1-hour safety training

- →4-hour uninterrupted availability

Community Manager , Oceanus Operators Forum
EasyWork from Earth5 hours/week (recurring) · 78 applicants this week
With over 1,800 operators using robots at Oceanus Procellarum, the community forum is busy. New operators have questions ('How do I handle the sand dunes?'), experienced ones share tips, and occasionally people argue about who had right-of-way on the plains. We need a community manager to moderate discussions, answer common questions using our FAQ, welcome new members, organize weekly 'best photo' threads, and escalate technical issues to staff. This is a recurring weekly role. You need to be friendly, fair, and good at defusing internet arguments. Knowledge of the site is helpful but you'll learn quickly.

Explorer Sumo Wrestling
Medium30 minutes · 345 bookings this week
Two Optimus Explorers face off in a marked circular ring on the flat basalt plains. The rules are simple: push your opponent out of the ring. In 1/6th gravity, traction is the challenge , the Explorers weigh far less, so gaining grip on the dusty regolith is difficult. Matches are surprisingly strategic: feints, lateral moves, and timing matter more than brute force. You're matched against another live player from anywhere in the world (or an AI opponent if no one's available). Best of 5 rounds. The Explorers are built tough , no damage possible. Surprisingly intense and competitive. A growing community of regular players has developed signature moves.

- →No Explorer damage possible

Lunar Drift Racing
Medium1 hour · 389 bookings this week
The dusty regolith surface of Oceanus Procellarum is incredibly slippery in lunar gravity , your Explorer weighs 1/6th of normal, so the wheels break traction easily. This makes it the best drift racing surface in the solar system. A marked drift course features sweeping turns, hairpins, and figure-eights across the flat lava plains. Points are awarded for drift angle, speed, duration, and style. The dust plumes kicked up during drifts look spectacular in the camera , silent rooster tails of grey lunar dust arcing through the vacuum. Three scored runs, best score counts. The physics feel completely different from Earth , it's like driving on ice cream.
$45

What's Included
- →3 scored drift runs
- →Angle, speed, and style judging
- →Dust plume camera for spectacle shots
What You Get
- ✓Drift highlight reel
